Fabworks Exclusive Avoca Wool

When Fabworks Met Avoca Wool

So you've found it.

This is where you can buy and sample our very special Fabworks Exclusive Avoca Wool Collection.

I'd like to tell you that it all started four years ago, when Fabworks met Avoca.

But actually, it didn’t...

A History Of Fabric Weaving

Irish weavers Avoca have been working continuously since 1723, weaving wools and tweeds from their mill in the village of Avoca. Over the last 20 years Avoca have established their own highly successful ladies clothing range.

Fabworks Mill Shop has been buying dressmaking fabrics from Avoca since 2011. Fabworks customers have benefited from the finest of Avoca's fabrics; some fabrics came in small amounts and some in larger quantities, but nevertheless they were all popular and always snapped up in super quick time!

We have seen endless colours and compositions come through to Fabworks. There has been every dressmaking fabric you can imagine, from linens to linings, fine wools to embroidered silk; not to mention all the haberdashery, trimmings and ribbon!

Avoca's catchphrase 'affordable quality'is rather fitting.

Avoca And Fabworks Join Forces

You can’t have too much of a good thing. Everything changed on a day trip in early 2015 to Avoca HQ in Wicklow with a throwaway comment of, “Would you be able to weave some fabric exclusively for Fabworks?”

This was the start of an agreement forAvoca to weave bespoke wool for Fabworks.

Nine months and numerous samples later, the wool is now in stock and available to buy here at Fabworks Online. You may recognise some of the patterns from Avoca’s Our Famous Throws range; that said, you won't recognise some of the patterns at all, because they're only here at Fabworks!

The Avoca heritage, the brand, the traditional fibres, and the exclusivity of these wools all mean that you won't be able to purchase these particular fabrics anywhere other than at Fabworks Online.

With a mix of finely detailed Herringbones, rich Donegal Tweeds and luxurious plaids, all 100% wool, there is certainly something for everyone in this very special exclusive collection.
