If you are making your first tie, consider a fabric that is easier to work with than silk, the archetypical tie fabric.
Even if you have no sewing experience, help is available, so you'll be fine.
Designed for everyone
It's a tie. Men look great in ties. Women look great in ties. With the possible exception of penguins, even animals look great in ties. (Penguins should really wear bowties)
