From BF Patterns:

High-waisted, straight-legged, and tailored to perfection, the Taylor Trousers mean business! Featuring a functional fly and front slash pockets in two unique views, they're designed to serve both your personal and professional style agendas.

If an office-ready uniform is on your to-do list, View A's double-pleated front and sophisticated back welt pockets are sure to meet the mark. For a practical, workwear-inspired look, View B is a no-brainer: flat at the front, no-nonsense patch pockets at the back. No matter the view, the Taylors are fit to avoid waist-gaping thanks to an invisible elastic secured in the back waistband, so you can strut stress-free all over town in your new tried-&-trues!

Recommended Fabrics: Designed with versatility in mind, the Taylor Trousers can be sewn up in a wide range of light-to-heavyweight wovens.

  • View A sews up beautifully in wool and poly blend suitings for a classic tailored look as well as midweight linen and cotton twill for a more casual feel. For suitings, choose a blend that contains at least some natural fiber content to ensure it can hold the press of the front pleats and crease.
  • View B pairs perfectly with heavier-weight fabrics such as denim, cotton twill, or canvas.

Difficulty: Intermediate

Sizes: Two size ranges: (0-20) and (14-32)
See Size Chart here.

Fit & Drafting Notes: This pattern includes two size ranges which have been drafted separately to accommodate different body proportions. Range 1 includes sizes 0-20 and fits a smaller waist-to-hip ratio. Range 2 spans from sizes 14-32 and fits a larger waist-to-hip ratio. If you are in the overlapping size range (sizes 14-20), please review both size charts and finished garment measurements to determine which size range will work best for you.
