From Sew Over It:

Meet your new favourite swing dress sewing pattern, the Nancy Dress! Inspired by Lisa’s love of vintage style, Nancy is a 1960s icon with the ultimate swish factor. Cute and flattering, and with 60s style AND the comfort of a loose-fitting dress, Nancy brings the best of both worlds to your wardrobe.

The Nancy Dress is full of interesting design details with lots of new techniques to try. It is made up of unique panels which provide shaping at the bust and back of the dress. Extra shaping at the back with darts gives the dress a lovely gentle fit. She has three quarter-length sleeves, and a bias-bound neckline with the option of two different neckline shapes: a high neck or a slight scoop. There are no zips or buttons – the dress is pulled on and off over your head, closing with a hook and eye.

A lovely dress to take you from day to night, Nancy makes a casual weekend winner as well as the perfect understated party dress. Dress up with heels and a cropped jacket, or down with ankle boots and a big scarf; either way you’ll look fabulous! Nancy looks great with black tights – a must for this chilly winter weather! You can really have fun with the styling with this one.

Sewing Level
The Nancy Dress is an intermediate level sewing pattern. With fairly simple construction, the difficulty comes mostly in working with lightweight, drapey fabrics, so we recommend you have some experience of sewing these. With its super simple design, our Silk Cami pattern is a great place to start.

Nancy is a swing dress sewing pattern, which means she’s loose-fitting in design. This makes for easy fitting, so you really have chance to master the fabric with this project.
