From Seamwork:

Layerable garments are a must for any wardrobe and, here at Seamwork, we aim to give you as many layerable garment options as possible. Lilliana is another great staple to add to your wardrobe.

Lilliana is a Chanel-style box coat that is very easy to sew up and style. The original pattern has few pieces, no closures, and raw edges finished with a bias binding. This simple, straightforward design provides you with options for experimenting with bold fabrics and trims, without having to worry about technical details or intricate pattern matching.

We suggest using an interesting textured woven coating fabric, such as a tweed, jaquard, or boucle. You can experiment with a complementary colored bias binding, or simply staystitch the raw edge and let the fabric fray for a unique detailing. Try sewing Lilliana up in a chambray or linen for a more casual look.

Check out the member exclusive for Lilliana in the October 2017 issue of Seamwork for more stylistic features, such as a bottom front panel with hidden pockets and a button closure.
