From Capital Chic Patterns:

Cosmopolitan looks flirty, but actually means business. Made from suiting fabrics, it screams ‘work’ but the lace appliqué at the neckline and hem brings it back to fun. More than a slip-dress, this fitted sheath is best paired with a jacket and flats for work; ditch the jacket and add heels for an instant evening-friendly look.

T-shaped darts at the bust mean striped or plaid fabrics really come into their own, but this dress can just as effectively be made up in solid colours. Lace can be added at the neckline and hem, or just the neckline, depending on your taste.

The blouse version features a pleated peplum with just the right amount of ‘pep’ and the same T-shaped darts for interest.

Both versions close with an invisible zip at the side and a hook and eye. The dress features a slit at the back for walking.
