From Alina Sewing + Design Co:

The Chi-Town Chinos pattern is inspired by the classic, relaxed pant silhouette commonly referred to today as chinos. This pattern is mid-rise, easy-fitting, and straight through the hip and leg. The waistband is faced, maintaining a clean finish.

With four different back pocket options, a shorts pattern, a skirt pattern, and options to lengthen or shorten both, this pattern is a handmade summer wardrobe staple.

Recommended Fabrics: Medium weight woven fabrics such as cotton twill, chambray, denim, linen, linen blends, or wool blends. Directional prints such as plaid or stripes may require additional yardage.

Skills learned: French seams, fly front zipper, darts, understitching, slash pockets, patch pockets, bar tacks, bias binding.

Difficulty: I believe that if you set your mind to something, you can accomplish it. My fully-illustrated 38-page instruction manual will walk you through every technique, teaching you along the way. I have also included sections on how to make a muslin, how to shorten or lengthen a pattern, how to fit the pattern, how to finish and customize your garment, as well as cutting layouts for each view and size. If you have sewn a few garments before, you will be more than equipped to tackle Chi-Town Chinos!

Note: There are expansion packs to turn this into a knee-length shorts pattern, as well as full-length pants, or add welt pockets! Info on the expansion packs here.
