Main fabric
To stay warm, prioritize fabrics such as soft fleece (teddy fleece), sherpa, or thick sweatshirt fabric. Keep in mind that the heavier the fabric, the thicker it will be under the sewing machine, but it also means more warmth. Opt for a weight between 200 and 350 gsm, with a minimum elasticity of 20% (essential for passing over the head, especially for smaller sizes).
Lining fabric
The hood can be lined with the main fabric or a different knit, fleece, or sherpa fabric, while maintaining the same minimum elasticity as the main fabric (20%). Given its size, it is essential to line it to give it structure and ensure optimal warmth, but be careful not to make it too heavy. Try not to exceed a total weight (main fabric + lining) of 700 gsm for adults and 500 gsm for children.
