from Peppermint Magazine, Issue 59:

Time to get shirty, stitchy pals! Say bonjour to our latest pattern, the beautiful Peppermint Belle Shirt.

Made in collaboration with Modern Sewing Co’s marvellous Hetty Adams, this beauty offers a twist on traditional shirting tropes with striking details such as a wide placket, straight point collar and bell sleeves. With clean, clever construction, she’s a dream to sew and a joy to wear whether you embrace modern minimalism and whip one up in monochromatic linen, or rock a bold print and make a statement shirt – or dress! That’s right, she contains multitudes, or at least multiple views. The opportunities are endless.

Recommended Fabrics: Lightweight, non-stretch woven fabric with a weight of roughly 80-180 GSM, not too transparent, with some flexibility and movement (not too rigid). Natural fibres are preferred to allow the body to breathe. Suggestions include linen, cotton poplin/lawn, needlecord, lightweight twill, flannel, brushed cotton, silk.

Note: This pattern is free with a copy of Issue 59 (both print and digital copies), and the digital downloadable version is available on our website under our new ‘pay-what-you-like’ initiative.
