Based on my winning Moda Bella Challenge quilt in 2017 this pattern is a mini balloon quilt that works well with prints and solids. To make larger (or smaller) balloons and a quilt with many balloons the template supplied can be printed out or photocopied into different sizes. This pattern outlines machine applique method using freezer paper, trapunto and swirling FMQ (instructions provided) or can be quilted by walking foot for those who don’t do FMQ. Sewing machine with blind hem stitch and suitable for FMQ or walking foot quilting is required to successfully complete this project.
