Athena is a loose fitting dress with a slit at the centre front neckline. At the end of the slit, you can sew in a hook or a button. The neckline has gathering. The casing with an elastic band inside is along the waist line. Voluminous sleeves, 3/4, with an elastic band at the bottom. There is no bottom ruffle piece in the pattern (see the first technical image). But there is width of the ruffle indicated for each size in the instructions. You can cut out any length you want, might be mini, midi, or maxi.
Suggested fabrics: Drapey fabrics in viscose, silk, cotton.
Fabric requirements: 1.4 m wide fabric: 1.8 – 2.3 m (WITHOUT BOTTOM RUFFLE).
Notions: One button or hook for front neckline; approx. 1 m of 1 cm wide elastic for the waist and sleeves; thread.
You can sew this dress with a variety of dress group fabrics. Better to choose fabrics that are good for drapery, for example, viscose, silk, cotton. Additionally, you will need: elastic band for the waist and sleeves (1 cm wide) - about 1 m, 1 button or hook, 5 reels of threads in same colour. Eases added: bust line – 36 cm, waist line – 90 cm (without elastic band), hips line – 96 cm. The length of the dress without ruffles – 67,5 cm, the length of the sleeve – 37 cm.
