Alternative is a modern take on the combination of two simple blocks. Practice improvisational piecing and foundation paper piecing. Alternative is a fun and simple pattern with a lot of opportunities for individualization with the fabrics you choose.
The finished size of the quilt as pictured is 53 x 64", however the size if easily adjusted by adding or subtracting blocks.
This pattern uses the foundation paper piecing quilting method with a top pressed technique for the X Block and traditional piecing for the Plus Block. The improvisational piecing option for the Plus Block make this a super pattern for scraps! Or, keep is simple and use one fabric for each square (Super for charms!). The pattern includes the X Block template, a coloring block map, and instructions with full illustrations.
