From Black Snail Patterns:

This is a sewing pattern for an 1830´s linen Tailcoat. Wool fabrics as well can be used to make this garment.
The terms „Dress Coat“ or „Tail Coat“ developed about 1800 for a jacket similarly to the modern Tailcoat. Today a Tailcoat is only worn for formal evening events, but at that time a Tailcoat with it´s different forms, made from different materials was a garment for all occasions, except court.

This sewing pattern tries to show a detailed and historically accurate construction of a 1830´s Tailcoat . But of course all interfacings can be replaced by fusible, a modern working and machine sewing can be chosen.

Also suitable for steampunk or cosplay costumes.

The pattern comes with detailed and illustrated sewing instructions in English and German. A seam allowance of 5/8" (1,5cm) is included in my sweing patterns.

It is a multi size pattern, you can choose between US 34-44 (EU 44-54) and US 46-56 (EU 56-66).
