A simple dirndl skirt with patch pockets-- with a pop of color by adding piping to the pocket edges. 

Herringbone twill fabric, re-used seconhand zipper, bias binding, and piping all came from the thrift store. Total cost, including pattern = $4.58 USD. 


Added 2 inches to waistband to increase size. Did not opt to add more width to gathered skirt pieces because I was limited on fabric.
