My friend Kim loaned me this fabulous vintage pattern from her stash and I was excited to whip up a new dress for the kid-- one with the fish pocket, so we could call it her fishing dress.

Alas, the child is sensible and lacks the kind of whimsy that supports novelty details-- so she requested a basic dress, nothing too fancy, and picked out the fabric from my stash.

I made a mistake in the early assembly because I'm terrible about reading directions, so I ended up having to bring the binding across the shoulders where they meet and button. It was annoying, because corners have to be mitered and it made the sewing more fiddly and time consuming.
